Marram - A legacy of care

How does it Work?

There are three ways to make a holiday home booking:

Current vacancies

Holiday homes are available to be booked several months in advance of a tenancy. All homes available to be booked can be found using the current vacancy search.

Homes are generally available for whole weeks (Saturday to Saturday), but a limited number are set aside as short stay holiday homes and can be booked six months prior to tenancy and for any number of days (1-6 nights or even longer if required). Bookings can be for up to 4 weeks.

Some holiday homes are only available through the ballot process (those in the high demand times around the Christmas holidays, Easter and school holidays).

The ballot

A ballot is one way to allocate homes in high demand periods. Ballots are run at approximately two months prior to a period that is allocated to be included in the ballot. See the Ballot schedule for future ballot dates.

Ballots may be entered by completing a ballot form or completing a ballot request online. The ballot is drawn and you will be notified of your success or failure shortly after. If successful you will have to confirm that you want the booking within the time specified on the confirmation e-mail / letter or you will forfeit the booking.

You can either pay by credit card at the time of confirmation, or ask for an invoice to be sent to you. The invoice will contain a last payment date. Please ensure that payment is made before this date as bookings that are unpaid for will be released back into the system and will be available for others to book.

Methods of Payment

You can pay for your holiday in the following ways:

  • Credit card - (Mastercard and Visa only) - online or over the phone
  • Loaded prepaid Visa card - you can use your preloaded funds (loaded via Internet banking, automatic payment or at your local Post Shop) to pay for your holiday as well as for goods and services in New Zealand, overseas and online - giving you access to more than 29 million Visa retailers and over 1 million ATMs worldwide. It's like a credit card but you don't go into debt as you only spend what you load
  • Billpay - take your invoice to your nearest Post Shop and pay over the counter. This option is NOT available for online bookings.
